The Los Angeles Film School is looking for a creative and passionate individual with a background in video production to teach our Advanced Digital Content course (covering advanced video and audio production and motion graphics with a focus on video production for social media) and at least one other course in the Media Communications program, which includes: graphic design, social media, marketing, journalism, and video/audio production courses. The ideal candidate would be able to teach across various subjects. 


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • REQUIRED:  Bachelor's Degree in film, digital media, communications, marketing, or related field 
  • REQUIRED: Must have 4+ years of verifiable work experience in video production (Prior teaching experience does not satisfy this requirement, must be industry experience.)
  • Knowledge of IOS, iPads, Apple products
  • Demonstrated English communication abilities, both verbal and written 
  • Demonstrated physical, visual, and auditory capacity to work on a computer and communicate effectively with students via telephone and computer 
  • Demonstrated ability to lift and carry equipment up to 10 pounds
  • Must provide a portfolio with work samples (please include link to sample work)


Preferred Skills

  • Online teaching and/or curriculum development experience
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Apple, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Google Suite environments.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Serve as instructor for assigned courses or course sections
  • Perform all Online Faculty responsibilities with a high degree of quality and professionalism
  • Develop and/or revise curriculum according to course design standards 
  • Ensure successful student attainment of learning outcomes 
  • Provide excellent and timely student support 
  • Review course materials to ensure academic program quality
  • Work to resolve student issues to ensure academic success
  • Attend functions that are needed to support The Los Angeles Film School community 
  • Efficiently and professionally support students with clear communication, concerned care, creative and timely solutions to problems 
  • Maintain accurate academic records, including grades and student communications 
  • Utilize student feedback to continuously improve course instruction and make curriculum recommendations 
  • Provide expertise in assigned content area and maintain current knowledge in his/her field 
  • Other duties as assigned

The Media Communications Bachelor of Science degree program is a 120 semester credit hour degree program that is delivered 100% online through our unique Learning Management System (LMS)'a secure web-based platform that employs modern multimedia technologies and is accessible 24 hours a day via the Internet. Online students use this system to view video content, receive and submit project work and assignments, take tests and quizzes, communicate with instructors and classmates, and review grades and course progress. Our online learning environment utilizes the combination of interactive and web-based media to create a variety of instructional materials in support of dynamic, self-directed, and collaborative learning activities. These activities can provide students with a more diverse range of learning options and promote more meaningful collaboration between students and instructors. 


Online Instructors are industry professionals, developing and teaching a curriculum that integrates technical knowledge with artistic exploration and creativity to provide an immersive learning experience for students. Our online learning environment utilizes interactive and web-based media with a variety of video content, project work and assignments, discussion boards, quizzes, instructor-led live sessions, and significant one-on-one student interaction. Online faculty are expected to provide supportive coaching and mentoring to students, helping students learn and grow throughout the program. Currently, the position is fully remote, but could eventually require a few days in the office per month. Commutable distance from Winter Park, Florida required.
