Purpose:
The Los Angeles Film School is looking for a creative and passionate individual with a background in business to teach our Media Entrepreneurship course and at least one other course in the Media Communications program, which includes: graphic design, social media, marketing, journalism, and video/audio production courses. The ideal candidate would be able to teach across various subjects.
Online Instructors are industry professionals, developing and teaching a curriculum that integrates technical knowledge with artistic exploration and creativity to provide an immersive learning experience for students. Our online learning environment utilizes interactive and web-based media with a variety of video content, project work and assignments, discussion boards, quizzes, instructor-led live sessions, and significant one-on-one student interaction. Online faculty are expected to provide supportive coaching and mentoring to students, helping students learn and grow throughout the program. Currently, the position is fully remote, but could eventually require a few days in the office per month. Commutable distance from Winter Park, Florida required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Those that must be performed with or without an ADA Accommodation)
- Serve as instructor for assigned courses or course sections
- Perform all Online Faculty responsibilities with a high degree of quality and professionalism
- Develop and/or revise curriculum according to course design standards
- Ensure successful student attainment of learning outcomes
- Provide excellent and timely student support
- Review course materials to ensure academic program quality
- Work to resolve student issues to ensure academic success
- Participate in student outreach efforts for at risk students
- Attend functions that are needed to support The Los Angeles Film School community
- Efficiently and professionally support students with clear communication, concerned care, creative and timely solutions to problems
- Maintain accurate academic records, including grades and student communications
- Utilize student feedback to continuously improve course instruction and make curriculum recommendations
- Provide expertise in assigned content area and maintain current knowledge in his/her field
- Complete all faculty training activities in a timely manner

Competencies/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated English communication abilities, both verbal and written
- Must be able to collaborate with others in a virtual environment
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must demonstrate knowledge of business and entrepreneurship concepts.
Education and/or Experience:
- REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree in business, digital media, communications, marketing, or related field
- REQUIRED: Must have 4+ years of verifiable work experience in entrepreneurship (Prior teaching experience does not satisfy this requirement, must be industry experience.)
Computer Skills:
- Knowledge of IOS, iPads, Apple products
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Apple, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Google Suite environments.
