Purpose:
The Audio Programs Administrative Assistant/Teaching assistant shall provide administrative assistance and tutoring for the Music Production program at the recording school building (6690 Sunset) and on occasion at other campus facilities as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (those that must be performed with or without an ADA Accommodation):
Program Director administrative assistance:
- Assisting in the maintenance of program education files and course binders
- Determining student qualifications for'and administration of'Avid Certification tests.
- Inventory and distribution of office and classroom supplies
- Answering general student inquiries regarding the Education department, including assisting students with schedules and class locations
- Assisting with classroom/lab equipment installation and setup as needed
- Assisting at monthly open house and orientation
- Directing students to resources such as student advising, financial aid, Connect desk etc.
- Assisting communication with instructors
- Assisting communication with Equipment Room and IMT Department
- Attending and documenting meetings when necessary
- Assisting with food orders for meetings and faculty breakfasts
- Performing other duties, as assigned by the Program Director
Instructor/instructional assistance and tutoring:
- Occasional in-class instructor assistance
- Assisting with in-class equipment distribution
- Assisting faculty mentors with organization of student events
- Assisting in outreach to students with attendance issues
- Tutoring for music production courses, and other related courses as needed/applicable

- Strong customer service skills
- Good organizational skills
- Working knowledge of common word processing and office software
- Experience and education in music theory and audio recording in the digital realm
- Good written and verbal communication
- High degree of computer literacy
Education | Experience:
- Strong understanding of Music Production.
Computer Skills:
- Strong proficiency with Mac (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote)
- Strong proficiency with DAW's Logic Pro, Ableton, Pro Tools
- Ability to learn new programs as required
Environmental Factors (are those that are required and performed with or without an accommodation):
- Fluorescent lighting
- Frequent use of computer screens and other tech devices
Physical Demands (are those that are required and performed with or without an accommodation):
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment to 25lbs
Emotional & Mental Demands (are those that are required and performed with or without an accommodation):
- Ability to assist complex students, etc.
